Fourth of July
July 4th celebrations have been a tradition in Wellman for many
years with people coming from near and far to experience Wellman's
parade, fireworks, and all day events.
The day starts off with a kiddies' parade at 9:30 am on Main Street
followed by the main parade at 10:00. Following the parade various
events are held in the community including pie throwing contests and
other family-fun events. The downtown Heritage museum is open for
tours as well as historic buildings at the Heritage Park on 7th
Avenue.

Celebration events move to the North Park after the parade to
include all day bingo at the main shelter, all day ball tournaments
for the youth ball teams, sand volleyball tournaments, one-on-one
basketball tournaments, prairie life projects for children,
dunk-tank, children’s carnival games, live pony rides, and lots of
good food to eat.
Prior to the
fireworks bring your lawn chair to North Park and enjoy listening to
music from local musicians. Just after dusk expect a fantastic
fireworks display (with many thanks to the Wellman Volunteer Fire
Department for providing the excellent fireworks show).
