A.L.C. Study Club
Organized in 1939. Activities include two annual projects: a local mitten tree at Christmas and the annual community Vespers Service for the Wellman Ecumenical churches. Monthly meetings focus on the arts, literature, and cultural topics to expand members' visions.

The group meetings are held the first Monday of each month at the Presbyterian Church in Washington, IA at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
American Legion Charles Polton Post #427
Organized in January, 1920. Members of this organization are X-Military, i.e. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, & Marines. The "Charles Polton" is the name of a Wellman man who lost his life in World War I, 1918 in France.
The organization provides Military funerals for veterans.
Members are about 45 and came from both Wellman, Kalona, & surrounding community.
Meets the 1st Wednesday at 7:00pm in the Municipal Building Council Chambers.

Asbury Methodist Church Food Pantry
A food pantry is operating out of Asbury Methodist Church in Wellman for those in need of assistance Donations of food or money are always welcome. The first Saturday of each month from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.

TTT Society, Chapter Iowa AD
Installed in 1938. Participates in national project of annually providing camp opportunities for two girls going into 5th grade. Upon their return, the campers participate in the city's July 4th parade on the T.T.T. float. Other projects are community services with local nursing home, Mid-Prairie school activities, city library, etc.
Meeting dates are the second Wednesday of each month, except July and August, in members homes or meeting place of the hostess' choice.
