The Wellman City Council met in special session in the Council Chambers of the Wellman Municipal Building at 7:30am. Mayor Ryan Miller presided with the City Clerk and following Council Members: Marc Pennington, Fern Bontrager Johnny Schwartz and Steve Slaubaugh by telephone; absent: Doug Powell. Also present were: Bill Gatchel from the news media. The meeting was called to order at 7:51am. Pennington moved to approve the agenda, Bontrager seconded and all voted aye.

The purpose of the meeting was to adopt Resolution No. 11-37 to appoint a City Administrator, enter into a contract and set salary. Pennington introduced Resolution 11-37 and move for its adoption. Bontrager seconded the motion and upon roll call there were four aye votes, Powell absent and not voting. The Mayor affixed his signature. Mark Baker of Holstein, Iowa was appointed as City Administrator at a starting salary of $60,000. His tenure will begin on October 1, 2011.

With no further business Slaubaugh moved for adjournment at 7:54am, Bontrager seconded and all voted aye.
