The Wellman City Council met in special session in the Council Chambers of the Wellman Municipal Building at 4:30pm. Mayor Ryan Miller presided with the City Administrator, City Clerk and following Council Members: Robert Goodrich, Karri Fisher, and Steve Slaubaugh; absent: Marc Pennington and Matt Latcham. The Agenda was approved upon motion by Slaubaugh, second by Fisher and all aye votes.

The fy10 Heritage Agency budget for the Senior Dining program was presented. The Clerk summarized the application with a request for Heritage funding of $49,687, a POS rate of $4.02.Goodrich moved to approve the application, Slaubaugh seconded and all voted aye.

Ross presented two change orders for the Parkside Activity Center. The contractor had hit a live water main running north/south through the construction area. The survey had indicated this main was a dead main but once the contractor had reached the shutoff valve the water erupted flooding the construction site. This change order is in the amount of $1,391. The second change order was to add steel re-enforcement to the building due to changes in state standards that increased the requirements for the amount of wind a building can sustain. The amount of the change order is $2,563. Goodrich moved to approve both change orders, Fisher seconded and all voted aye.

The date for the next regular Council meeting falls on a City holiday, Presidents’ Day. Goodrich moved to set Tuesday, February 17, 2009, 7:00pm as the next regular City Council meeting. Slaubaugh seconded the motion and all voted aye.

With no further business Slaubaugh moved for adjournment at 4:43pm, Fisher seconded and all voted aye.
