Our City wide cleanup days will be held in two weeks on Friday May 13th from 1 to 5 pm and Saturday May 14th from 8 am to 1 pm. This will be set up similar to what we did last year with dumpsters at the maintenance shed on 2nd St. and 9th Ave. You will be charged $5 per load at the site prior to unloading. If you need items picked up it will be on Friday only and you must pay your fee at City Hall prior to pick up. There will be a $10 charge for one item or $15 for multiple items for pick up service.
We will not be accepting any electronic waste. Goodwill accepts computer equipment and TVs, so we are referring people to them. If you have appliances we will be having a private contractor picking those items up at your home, not at the dumpsters. There will be no charge for this collection but you must contact the contractor personally to arrange a date for pickup. Please call City Hall at 646-2154 to get the name and number of the contractor.
This is a service the City has provided for several years to help residents get rid of large items at their property and to keep the City looking cleaner. We appreciate everyone helping out these days and encourage you to take advantage of this service.
If anyone would like to volunteer to help on either of the days, even for a couple of hours, you can register with City Hall. We always need people to help pick up items on Friday or help at the dumpsters on Saturday. If you have further questions about the types of items that can be discarded please contact City Hall.
