We would like to thank everyone that attended or provided raffle items for the Cystic Fibrosis Trivia night last Saturday.  This is the second time we have done this in Wellman and will be an annual event to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  It was very well attended and hopefully everyone had a good time!

The Wellman Y and the City have come up with a summer activity program for area kids.  The Y will have their regular full day, five day a week program for kids throughout the month of July.  Information about this program is available at the Y.  A second program they will run, in conjunction with the City, is a one day swim outing to the Washington pool.  This will be run through the Y on Thursdays during the month of July and kids can sign up for individual trips or all four.  The City will also be providing the skating rink to area kids for a free skate on Tuesdays in July from 12 to 4.  This is the revised program that the Y and the City came up with after hearing what area residents were wanting for a summer program.  Hopefully this will help fill the needs in the community and is an affordable option for families.  The Y will continue to have their scholarship program available for families that need financial assistance.
