HAVE YOU LICENSED YOUR DOG?
Dog owners are responsible to license their dog(s) with the City. This is a one-time license for the life of the dog. You need to bring proof of rabies vaccination when you purchase your license. The cost is $15 unless you are sixty or older, then it is $10. Each time you have the rabies updated, please bring a copy in to the office so we can keep your records current. If your dog is picked up when running loose and is not licensed, you will be assessed additional costs for failure to license. You need to get this done as soon as possible. If you can’t get to the office during our normal hours, we can arrange to do it by mail.
YARDWASTE/FALL LEAF PICKUP
Leaf bags are available at City Hall for 50cents each to place your leaves, weeds, and garden waste in. Set them out on Mondays and our volunteer team of Leroy Powell and Don Randol will be by to pick them up. Burning leaves is not prohibited but we encourage residents to use the bags to prevent health problems for citizens who cannot deal with the smoke. If you must burn, do so only when it will not interfere with your neighbor’s activities (check for laundry, children playing, etc). and NEVER burn on the street edge. Burning must be confined to a place on your property. Do NOT rake or blow your leaves into the street. This will only plug storm sewers.
REMINDER: when you have bags or limbs (tied in a bundle) to be picked up, please call before 8am on Monday morning. You may call on the weekend and leave a voice message.
