Southpark
South Park is located on 1st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. This park has provided a site for picnics, reunions, and celebrations for nearly one-hundred years.
With many large trees a cool shady place is provided for those summer picnics. In the 1940′s, 1950′s, and into the 60′s the annual Turkey Days was held here where games, carnivals, and a free turkey dinner was provided to the community by Maplecrest Turkeys. After North Park was opened the Community Club revived usage of South Park by construction of a concession stand; announcers stand; and organizing horse shows, demo derbies, and tractor pulls.
